In addition to our regular daily
curriculum, we also offer a series of special activities. From
weekly non-denominational Chapel to our annual Christmas
Program, the children eagerly anticipate these events. We
also feel it's important to involve the entire family, so mom, dad and siblings
are invited to all our events.
Some of our Special Events are:
|
|
|
Mad Science
Mad Science, an interactive science enrichment
program, conducts on-site science classes for
children ages 3 and up. Entertaining and
educational, the program covers topics from
water, weather and worms through hands-on
demonstrations and experiments. It's a favorite
for kids and staff alike! |

Halloween Family Dinner
Held a few nights before Halloween, this event is a great way for the children to show-off their costumes. There's a kid-friendly dinner, entertainment, activity tables like pumpkin
decorating and cookie frosting. The evening ends with safe trick
or treating as the kids visit each other's
classrooms for special treats.

Will Branch
Milwaukee favorite singer and entertainer, Will
Branch, has been a regular visitor at
Carpenter's Shop for several years. Each
classroom enjoys a separate time with him,
singing, dancing and role playing in songs. We
all love “Low Bridge Everybody Down” as we
dance, duck our heads and giggle.

Christmas Program
Our annual Christmas Program has become quite a family tradition. Each one of our classrooms performs their own selections of
Christmas favorites -- from our babies ringing their sleigh bells to the sounds of "Jingle Bells" to our school aged children performing "Silent Night"
with sign language.

Breakfast With Santa
Another Christmas hit with kids and families
alike. Our staff serves a scrumptious breakfast
while we rock and roll to original music
("Sticky Bubble Gum") by Carole Peterson, a long
time Carpenter's Shop favorite. The morning
highlight, of course, is a visit from Santa
Claus, himself.

Grandparents Ice Cream
Social
This mid-summer event allows us to celebrate all our generations. Grandparents are our special guests, but moms and dads are invited too. Root beer floats and make-your-own ice cream sundaes aplenty -- followed by an interactive program, such as a juggler or magician, that engages us all.

4th of July Parade
Every Fourth of July, Carpenter's Shop Daycare along with Tree of Life Christian Preschool creates a float and marches in the Whitefish Bay town parade. It's a great way to participate in the community and see old friends, including many now grown alumni, along the route.

Italian Family Dinner
Italian Family Dinner is another way we try to involve our families. It's a simple yet delicious meal of spaghetti, sauce and garlic bread held in our
Fellowship Hall. There's always kid-friendly entertainment which has ranged from magic to music to animal show and tell.
